Salamina – Aegina Pipeline Connection
MCM executed specialized subsea works for the 14 km Aegina–Salamina water pipeline, developed to provide Aegina with a reliable supply of clean drinking water and eliminate the need for daily tanker transportation. Installed at a maximum water depth of approximately 100 m, the HDPE pipeline is protected along its entire length with ACBMs (Articulated Concrete Block Mattresses). The project included commercial diving operations at depths of up to 50 m and ROV operations at depths of up to 100 m, covering inspections and monitoring before, during, and after installation, as well as the alignment, connection, positioning, and installation of individual pipeline sections. The works required specialized personnel and equipment, including MCM’s containerized diving system, decompression chamber, multi-diver panels, Kirby Morgan helmets, surface-supplied diving systems, communications equipment, and associated life-support and safety systems.
